Tool Help

What this UUID tool does
Generate random version 4 UUIDs (universally unique identifiers). Use them for synthetic IDs, correlation IDs in logs, and other non-clinical identifiers.
Typical use cases
- Creating test IDs for sample HL7 or FHIR messages.
- Generating correlation IDs for logs and trace output.
- Assigning stable IDs to config objects or resources.
Healthcare context
- Correlation IDs for requests between EMRs and integration engines.
- Internal IDs for non-patient-facing resources (jobs, batches, tasks).
- Test data for training, demos, or vendor evaluations.
Do not use UUIDs as patient identifiers (MRNs, account numbers, etc.) without reviewing your organization's standards and regulatory requirements.
