Cath & EP Case Timeline Tracker (EMR View)

Cath & EP Case Timeline Tracker (EMR View)

Embedded EMR view that displays live cath and EP case milestones, timestamps, and documentation status for full procedural visibility.

Cath & EP Case Timeline Tracker (EMR View)

The Cath & EP Case Timeline Tracker provides a real-time, EMR-embedded view of active and completed interventional cardiology and electrophysiology procedures. It consolidates procedural milestones, such as start/stop times, sheath-in/out, complications, and documentation status, into a single, timeline-based view accessible directly from the patient chart.

By synchronizing intra-procedural data with EMR documentation and quality tracking systems, the tracker helps clinicians and HIM teams ensure that all required reports, attestations, and follow-up notes are completed promptly and consistently. The result is improved situational awareness and faster post-case reconciliation across multidisciplinary teams.

Benefits

  • Improves transparency: Displays real-time procedural milestones and documentation status for clinicians and coordinators.
  • Reduces post-case delays: Surfaces missing or incomplete documentation immediately after case close.
  • Enhances compliance and audit readiness: Tracks event timing, complications, and report completion with full provenance.
  • Supports operational efficiency: Enables teams to monitor throughput and resolve documentation holds faster.

Capabilities

  • Interactive timeline visualization: Displays start/stop, sheath-in/out, and major event timestamps in a unified chronological view.
  • Documentation completeness indicators: Highlights missing or late procedural notes and diagnostic reports post-case.
  • Complication and event logging: Records intra-procedure incidents and links them to required documentation fields.
  • Follow-up task generation: Automatically routes reminders to responsible clinicians or departments for pending items.
  • Audit and compliance overlays: Preserves event provenance for chart review, registry submission, and accreditation audits.

Great for

  • Cardiologists and Procedural Teams: Track live case milestones (start/stop, sheath-in/out, and complications) directly within the EMR for situational awareness and post-case efficiency.
  • Health Information Management (HIM) and Documentation Integrity Teams: Monitor report completion, identify missing notes, and support compliance with visual completeness indicators.
  • Clinical Informatics and EMR Analysts: Align procedural documentation with quality reporting standards and surface audit-ready event timelines across cath and EP labs.
  • Quality and Operations Leaders: Measure throughput and closure rates across procedural areas to improve timeliness and data integrity.

Interops Team integrates FHIR Procedure, Observation, and Task resources to enable timeline-based visibility, documentation completeness tracking, and auditable workflow synchronization inside EMRs.
